LSU Coach Ed Orgeron Comments on His Leaked Anti-Alabama Locker Room Speech

Doug Gottlieb: “One of your players had your postgame speech on social media. Having been in locker rooms myself as a basketball player, not all that stuff you want getting out there. What is your take on your postgame speech to the player getting out to the public?”
Ed Orgeron: “Obviously that was a very emotional moment for everybody. You think you’re talking in private. Players know better than to do that. I do believe that the player made a mistake, he didn’t do it with mal-intent or anything. I talked to him and we don’t want that to happen and I wish it wouldn’t have happened. There are some things that you share within your family that you want only in-house, and that should have stayed in-house." (Full Audio at Bottom of Page)

Listen to LSU head Ed Orgeron discuss his fiery postgame remarks that went viral on social media when an unidentified LSU player Live streamed an obviously emotional Orgeron addressing his players in the locker room after the biggest victory of his career and one of the most important victories in the history of the program.

The video picks up Orgeron animatedly belting to his players: “WE’RE GOING TO BEAT THEIR A** IN RECRUITING, WE’RE GOING TO BEAT THEIR A**EVERY TIME THEY SEE US. YOU UNDERSTAND THAT?? ROLL TIDE, WHAT?! F**K YOU!”

Only becoming a headline story simply because it was regrettably made public after the LSU/Alabama rivalry game, Orgeron told Doug Gottlieb that ‘players know better than to do that’ and that the player 'made a mistake’. Orgeron added ‘there are some things you share within your family that you want only in-house’ and said he’s addressed it with the player and accepts that he made a mistake.
