Ziggy Ansah, Mychal Kendricks out for Seahawks against Rams

Seattle Seahawks v Arizona Cardinals

RENTON -- Defensive end Ziggy Ansah is inactive for Sunday night's game against the Los Angeles Rams due to a stinger sustained late in Monday night's win over the Minnesota Vikings.

Ansah was questionable to play against the Rams after being limited in practice throughout the week. Head coach Pete Carroll said on Friday that Ansah would be a game-time decision. After going through pregame work, the Seahawks decided Ansah wasn't ready to go.

Also out for Seattle is linebacker Mychal Kendricks due to a hamstring injury. Kendricks was listed as doubtful to play after being unable to get through last week's game. Rookie Cody Barton will likely take Kendricks' role at strong-side linebacker tonight against the Rams. It would be his first career start should the team open in its base defense with Barton on the field.

Defensive end Jadeveon Clowney is active after being listed as questionable due to a sports hernia injury. Clowney will have to manage the issue the rest of the season but came out of the Vikings win without any setbacks.

However, a sports hernia has cornerback Neiko Thorpe out for the rest of the season. Thorpe had surgery on Thursday to address his injury and will be placed on injured reserve eventually, but he remains on the active roster for the time being.

Tight end Luke Willson will miss a third straight game due to a hamstring injury sustained in a win over the San Francisco 49ers last month. Fullback Nick Bellore is also out with a quadriceps injury.

Wide receiver John Ursua and guard Phil Haynes are the only healthy scratches for Seattle.

Right tackle Rob Havenstein and tight end Gerald Everett are the two inactives of note for the Rams. Both are out with knee injuries.
