Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll had arthroscopic knee surgery last week

Minnesota Vikings v Seattle Seahawks

RENTON -- Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll is worthy of being added to the team's injury report after having arthroscopic knee surgery last week.

The Seahawks confirmed that Carroll had the surgery during the team's bye last week after he was seen using a golf cart to get around the practice fields during Thursday afternoon's workouts. Carroll was not very mobile in the moments he spent out of the cart during the portion of practice open to the media, which brings into question whether he will be able to be on the sideline for Sunday's game in Arizona.

If Carroll somehow was unable to be on the sideline due to his knee, he could coach for the box upstairs with assistant head coach/defensive line Clint Hurtt serving as his proxy on the sidelines.

New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton also spent several weeks coaching from upstairs in the coach's box in 2011 after he sustained a torn meniscus and fractured tibia in a sideline collision during a game. Carroll may not ultimately need to be upstairs depending on his level of mobility but it would be a fallback option just in case.

Game moved to Sunday Night Football:

This week's game against the Cardinals has been moved into the late prime-time window and will now be on NBC after initially being an afternoon kickoff on FOX.

The move of the game to the late window was in response to a COVID-19 issue with the Las Vegas Raiders, who were scheduled to play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday night this week. By moving the Seahawks-Cardinals game to the late window, it ensures a prime-time matchup will be available and that the Buccaneers-Raiders game can be rescheduled to a different date, if necessary.

Kickoff will be at 5:25 p.m. PT. It will be Seattle's second straight game on Sunday Night after their 27-26 win over the Minnesota Vikings two weeks ago.

Injury Report:

-- Safety Jamal Adams missed another practice for Seattle as it appears likely he will miss a third straight game due to a groin strain.

Adams has not practiced since getting hurt in the team's win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sept. 27. It would be highly unusual for the Seahawks to have a player return to game action without getting multiple days of practice under their belt after the kind of layoff Adams has had.

Ryan Neal and Damarious Randall would serve as Adams' replacement at strong safety against Arizona.
