Public Affairs - Athletes for Kids

Athletes for Kids is a Puget Sound organization that carefully matches children with disabilities with qualified high school athletes, who commit to mentoring a child for one to three years.  With this model, not only the child benefits, 89% of graduating seniors have reported that being a mentor improved their emotional wellbeing as well. We recently had on the show Marni Kurtz, Program Director for AFK, Nick Riley, AFK's Mentorship Coordinator, and Fran Kennedy Ellis, current mentee parent and Board Member.
