Rex Ryan Rips Amari Cooper 'I Wouldn't Have Paid This Turd!'

Former New York Jets and Buffalo Bills Coach, Rex Ryan spoke passionately on ESPN when it came to his feelings on Amari Cooper getting a $100 million deal saying the following:

"I wouldn't have paid this guy," Rex said on ESPN's "Get Up!" Friday. "To me, this is the biggest disappearing act in the National Football League. He doesn't show up on the road ... when the competition's good -- when he's against the top corners, that guy disappears. There's only one time that I can remember in recent memory on elite receivers and disappearing acts like Amari Cooper," Rex says. "That was the kid that the Raiders had a few years ago -- Oh! That's right, that was Amari Cooper! This is who he is!"
Rex added, "He doesn't love football! Hell with it, he stops his routes, he does all this!"
"I wouldn't have paid this turd. No way in hell. No way in hell would I have paid this guy."
"They made a huge mistake right here," Rex says.

A few weeks ago, Amari Cooper and the Dallas Cowboys agreed to a 5-year $100 million deal with up to $60 million guaranteed. Right now agreements for Dak Prescott's contract are currently up in the air between him and Dallas. Jason Smith and Rob Parker may not have objections to Rex Ryan having an opinion on who should and shouldn't get paid but calling Cooper a Turd is taking it too far.

Jason Smith: "When it comes to the analysis of Amari Cooper as a player, Rex Ryan has done enough in his NFL career to earn the right to say what he feels about a player...I get that, but you go on TV, and you call a guy a 'turd?' You're going over the line there...It's also disappointing. When you go down to name-calling, I stop taking you seriously. When you start name-calling or cursing, you're just looking for attention."

Rob Parker: "I agree. That's crossing the line. I love a strong opinion, but that word used in that situation is over the line. Name-calling should never be accepted. That's not how you get respect from your peers and other analysts in the business or even the players. If Rex Ryan comes around looking for information, and you're a player, are you giving him any? You can't cross that line."
