Doug Gottlieb: “Colin Kaepernick was the wrong guy. He’s still considered the leader of a movement, yet no one has ever heard him say a word. Remember that great speech he had –– that march on Washington where pointed out… NOPE. Does anyone not know that there is a strong feeling, especially from black people in this country, that there is systemic oppression and police brutality towards African-Americans and people of color? Does anybody NOT know that? Of, course not, but what’s the next step? That’s why Jay-Z is sitting there going ‘well, you’re not really doing anything’. Jay-Z was right when he said the whole idea was to bring attention to social injustice… And you did that and succeeded. WE have all talked about this for the last three years, except one guy – THE GUY WHO STARTED THE MOVEMENT.” (FULL VIDEO AT BOTTOM OF PAGE)

Listen to Doug Gottlieb discuss this week’s reports of music & entertainment mogul Jay-Z and his Roc Nation company partnering with the NFL on its Live entertainment performances as well as their ‘Inspire Change’ initiative.

The latter of those terms has become immensely derided, as Jay-Z went viral on Wednesday after saying ‘I think we’ve moved passed kneeling’, alluding to NFL players kneeling during the National Anthem to bring awareness to the oppression of people of color.

Gottlieb says he agrees with Jay-Z, and says although Colin Kaepernick successfully brought attention to the topic, he doesn’t think Kaepernick followed through with any type of plan… One Gottlieb thinks Jay-Z is trying to now lead.

Check out the video below as Gottlieb explains why Kaepernick was never the right leader for this movement, and although we have all talked about Kaepernick these last three years, Kaepernick himself has never talked.
